To allow you to manage your own content, Toews Web Site Development offers a modular administrative tool.
Administrative capability exists at two levels: a standard administrator level and a super-administrator level.
Administrator
It is possible to assign any or all of the site's content administrative functions to one or more administrators.
For instance suppose your site has a calendar, a news section, and a links page. One administrator might be given charge of the calendar and news sections, while another might maintain the links page. Still another might have access to all three.
The setting up of administrators and the functions to which they have access is the responsibility of the super-administrator.
Superadministrator
There should be a single person who has access to the super-administrator area. From this area, the following can be performed:
Administrator Setup. This is where the super-administrator sets up the IDs and passwords for the people who will have access to the administrative area. This is also where access to administrative functions is assigned.
Administrative Functions Setup. The super-administrator has full control over what functions area available in the administrative area. These are the functions available to be assigned in the Administrator Setup screen.
Administrative Area Categories. The administrative functions can be divided into as many categories as desired, for the purpose of organization. For example, some functions (such as, for example, setting up news categories) might be placed under a category called Setup, while others (news items) might be in another category--"Content Maintenance" perhaps.
Navigation. The super-administrator has the ability to add items to the site's primary navigation scheme.
Colors. The super-administrator has the ability to control the colors of certain elements throughout the site, the administrative area, and the super-administrative area. These elements include background color, main text color, link colors, navigation scheme colors, etc.
Specifics. This is information about the organization to which the Web site pertains, including the organization's name, an email address, mailing address, and phone number.
